I purchased this prompted journal at Nordstrom which is by Anthropologie. It’s called Reflections and Intentions - Everything I Need Is Within Me. As you know, I have planners and notebooks left and right. What I liked about this journal is that you write your entries when you want to. Unlike a set planner, they have the template to enter it in or you missed it! Lord knows when your life is so busy, hence why you need a planner - it’s nearly impossible to try to backtrack what you have done. I am so grateful to have my family recover some forgetful brain cells I lost because it is a challenge. In addition to all of this, I do vlog. I try my best to capture all that’s in between and the little moments that we often forget as time consumes us each day with our daily rituals of responsibilities. You know exactly what I mean. Everyone has their way of ‘busy’ in their lives. As another page turns, so does our time. Besides, journaling? Who does that especially when lives are too busy in the first place? What I do know is that we don’t take time to reflect upon ourselves. It’s there, it’s just we brush it off because we put it as a low priority. It’s always in our mind, mentally. It’s in our soul, emotionally. Maybe if we took time to reflect upon ourselves, we can have more control on our self-healing in all the areas of our lives.
After years of several horrible car accidents, my back pain has caught up with my neglect. I am now getting treatment with a chiropractor who is also a health and wellness doctor. A big appreciation goes to my husband for setting up a ghost appointment where I had no clue I needed to attend his class. A great wake up call for me indeed. This is just a piece of the puzzle to my self healing, but it’s a positive start. I have also turned to creating playlists that are oddly different from my normal genres of music. I listen to meditative instrumentals which takes me to a different level. It gets you to emotionally subtle down and the soft instrumental aspect of it captures your mental thoughts to connect a vibe with what is important in your life. All of the priceless things that matter. A music artist will write a song and all that they are feeling at that moment. The song lives forever and when you listen to the song again, it can stir up emotions as if you felt it that very day. Although I tell my family I love them everyday, it goes deeper than that. I told myself, if God didn’t promise me tomorrow - would there be something they can open and grasp all of my ‘Reflections and Intentions’ I had in those ‘moments’?
Of all the people we have ever loved and lost in our lives, time is a powerful understatement. Whether we have happiness or pain and whether we choose to share happy moments or leave things left unsaid, you can put whatever you feel in your own book. It can help strengthen your stance in how you live and how you keep the relationships in your life the way that they are. There are many times I had to stop myself and ask myself why I am doing things the way I am because I was forgetting all of the experiences and emotions I had come across. Have you ever saved texts that took you to another level or maybe a voicemail? So you play it back to remind yourself if you are where you need to be? I am LOVING this book. You can use any self-reflection type of book. For goodness sake, a plain notebook would suffice perfectly, too. What I enjoy about this book I purchased is that it’s broken down into an open date allowing you to write an entry whenever you choose. It’s also divided into different areas of your day from your happy moments to what’s bothering you.
Reflections and intentions. Everything we need IS within us.
