Arizona has been one of the most delightful road trips we have taken. Although it was only a couple hours east of us, the scenic view was so very relaxing. The green farmland views, the overwhelming amount of yellow butterflies, and the huge red rock mountains that you drive through make you forget that you have another hour or so left to go on your drive. We drove into a military campground that also has cabin like housing in which was rented. My few families on my husbands side all lodged in the cabin making it really fun. I do have to say it was extremely hot and humid which wasn't so fun, but thank goodness there was air conditioning in the cabin. We brought our dog Jada and she wasn't even a year old. All the aunties were cooking up some amazing filipino dishes and we all just gathered around talking about back in the day stories. We laughed all night and when it was about time to step outside to the cool air, the sky was filled with stars. The sky was lit with so many stars and I have never seen as many shooting stars as I did that night. Absolutely beautiful.
The next day was a day for the lake and people brought jet ski's but we just went to the lake the old fashioned way. With nothing but ourselves and because we had no jet skis. The kids played in the shore mud and just had a blast. We tried fishing, but no luck. If we were to go again, maybe on a later date where the heat and the humidity is low like October. Overall, we had a wonderful time and a great memory to look back on.
